One Month at College:
So I have been living away from “home” for about a month now. This is my roommate Cache, we live in a tiny 14’2” x 9’6“ room. So naturally we have learned a lot about each other spend a lot of time together. Only about a week ago did we find out that we have the SAME EXACT BIRTHDAY. We are crazily alike at times and we have even come accustom to finishing each other’s sentences.
I know have a few thoughts on my college experience and I plan on using this blog to “tell my stories” if you will. So to start things off, I am at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with the intentions of double majoring in Marketing and Finance. This is my first year here and I am living on campus. Although trying for a double major my real goal is to go to law school and study corporate law.
So my thoughts on my first month here; I love the experience as a whole so far. I am definitely not in Sheboygan anymore. This campus is not too big and not too small. All of my classes less than a fifteen minute walk from my residence hall (minus one class that is downtown). I think I have a good schedule with enough time between each class to do a little bit of work and relax.
I have made a lot of new friends and are really trying to get into my classes and take the most of what I can out of them. I have learned more by involving myself in discussions I learn more than I ever did sitting in a large class in high school. Yes, I still have lectures and many of them being as I am freshman in college, but the discussions are where my learning really happens.
The next upcoming posts will be about different experiences that I have a bit more to say on, such as dorm food, college social life, and classroom experience.
